Silver Swans

Silver Swans ballet classes have been introduced by the Royal Academy of Dance to open up the joy of ballet to older learners. A ballet class is a series of exercises at the barre and in the centre of the room unsupported. We practice the same class for a half term, to work on the movements and also learn a short Dance.

  • Silver Swans classes are running in many countries around the world.
  • Moving to uplifting music is enjoyable - you will learn something new, meet likeminded people and have fun, whilst exercising gently.
  • Classes are tailored for students over the age of 55, although anyone over the age of 18 is welcome, as the ballet class can be adapted to suit individual requirements.
  • No dance experience is necessary.
  • Dancing is good for your brain – remembering what comes next is all part of the fun!
  • Dancers will learn about posture and technique, alongside artistry and musicality.
  • Ballet improves strength, posture, coordination and balance.
  • In short, dance is good for the body, mind and soul.

Lucie loves dancing and enjoys teaching anyone with enthusiasm, from total beginner to dancers with experience.  All you need to join a class is comfortable clothing and enthusiasm ( leotards and lycra are not required!).
